Isabella Shaw is a musician and author. She was born in Denver, Colorado.
Ever since she was small she has written poetry and stories. She studied literature at Clare College, University of Cambridge, focusing on the medieval and early modern periods, concurrently with music and languages. In 2011, her poem “Variations on the Western Wind” was awarded the Benjamin Zephaniah Poetry Prize (St Edmund’s College Political Forum, Cambridge).
Isabella is now based in the Czech Republic. She sings music from the 11th to 20th centuries, compiles and performs concerts of works by unknown or newly-found early composers, and co-directs chamber ensemble Motus Harmonicus.
Songs of Remembrance is her first book.
